So many Americans take pride in boasting that they are free. They proclaim that they are children of liberty and make their own choices. They are proud of the fact that they decide their own fate because Americans are a stubborn bunch, and nobody tells them what to do!
But little do they know that they are actors in a comedy, a comedy where they are the ones in a giant stage giving the performance of their lives. Who is the director of this production? It is none other than the corporate media.
And through this media, billions of dollars in yearly advertising tell these blind Americans what to wear, what to drive, what to listen to, and where to spend their money!
Like zombies in a trance, Americans gladly part with their money because the little voice on their TV told them that it was the right thing to do. But it is not just the TV that sings the voice from the puppet master. The voice can be found on the radio, on billboards, and from the mouths of their friends.
The voice is very convincing, because it promises the reward of admiration and envy. The little voice tells them that achieving stuff is the successful American dream. So the blind Americans listen to this voice and they gladly do their part.
One hundred years ago, the dream of Americans was: work hard, raise a family, and leave a legacy.
Today the dream of Americans is: spend, spend, and spend some more! No matter what it takes, be a consumer, use your credit card, apply for financing, it does not matter; just buy everything that you can!
Today in America there is an epidemic of consumerism, materialism, and selfish greed!
This disease has not escaped Christians. They are some of the worst offenders. American Christians are not taught to give to the poor, the needy, and small ministries. Instead they are taught to reward themselves.
At one time in this country, saving money was looked at as a virtue. People were encouraged to have savings accounts, but today, the savings rate of America has been depleted, and now this country is a nation of debt!
A parasite of greed has wrapped itself around the hearts of so many Christians. How right our Lord was, when he described today's lukewarm church;I am rich and in need of nothing!
Holiday Season
We are coming to the close of the year 2008, Christmas is upon us. This means that the holiday shopping season is about to begin.
In the last several decades, the puppet master media has really done a number on blind Americans, including silly Christians. The corporate big box stores have used that hypnotic voice of advertising to convince American consumers that they must blow all of their hard earned money for Christmas shopping even if it means getting into massive debt.
The religion of consumerism has been very successful in taking freedom loving Americans and turning them into slaves. This false religion of consumerism has even come up with their holiest day. And on this day the blind slaves of America are expected to go to their local temple and offer up a sacrifice.
The Temple: The local big-box corporate store.
The sacrifice: All of their money and credit.
Every year in America, people get together for Thanksgiving. While they are together, they act very spiritual and religious. Before the big meal, they say a prayer of thanks to their chosen God. As the day draws to a close many of them prepare for the next day.
Black Friday
This next day has earned the proverbial name "Black Friday" because it is the biggest shopping day of the season.
It has also become the holiest day to the religion of consumerism. Every year on this day, millions of Americans wake up at two in the morning and go stand in line outside of a big-box store. These corporate stores usually open at 5 AM or 6 AM.
They are able to attract hundreds of people by offering discounted items.
Do the people show up? You bet they do. Some of them wait in line all night long.
And when the doors opened, they go crazy and stumble over each other trying to get inside the store to spend their money.
Utter Madness
Like rats in a frenzy, these greedy people offer their dignity up to the god of consumerism.
Sometimes they get into fights over discounted items. They yell, they scream, some of them forget their salvation and embarrass themselves.
But it is all for the good of Christmas, they are convinced. It is for a good purpose!
At least, this is what the little voice told them.
But really folks! How noble is it to step over somebody just to save $10 on a pair of pants?
A Black Mark
They call this day Black Friday. In a way I find myself agreeing with that, because when I see that day on the calendar, I do see it as black.
Black because it is a black mark on American society.
I also see it as black because American Christians are so blind and all they see is darkness.
As this year draws to a close, I want to challenge every one of you to reevaluate your religion.
Is your relationship with Christ black? Is your lamp still shining? If it is growing dim, refill it. Do it while you still have the time, brethren.
Folks, as the Christmas season approaches, do you really have to take part in any of the consumer madness? What is it all about anyway?
God bless you all

I am sad to report that this recent Black Friday - November 28, 2008 once again arrived and this time it took several lives.
In Nassau County, New York, A Walmart Worker was trampled to death when the doors opened at 5 a.m. The mad rushing blitz of the crowd was too much for the victim, 34-year-old Jdimytai Damour, who came from a temporary agency and was doing maintenance work at the store, Wal-Mart said.
But it did not stop there,a woman also suffered a horrible miscarriage after a horde of shoppers clogged the business entryway doors at Long Island, New York Wal-Mart, this was according to eye witnesses.
Also, two people were killed at a Toys "R" Us in Palm Desert. In this incident they apparently killed each other in a shootout. Why did this happen? Apparently the women that they were with got into an argument. Was it over "stuff?" I don't know, the two men are dead!
So that makes four human souls that are now in eternity. One of them an innocent baby.
Our society is in a downward spiral brethren. The talons of greed and materialism
are embedded in the hearts of so many people in this country. Will it go away?
I have heard that people are now saying that Black Friday should be re evaulated. Really? Ya think?
Whether or not Black Friday is somehow contained in the future is not the only problem. The root of the problem is the attitude of our society. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme!
And it is for this very reason that God is judging the land and is going to strip the citizens of their life's idol, materialism.
A recent word of Prophesy revealed
that these people will soon loose ALL of their earthly possessions and will also be standing in line for food!
Folks! These are NOT just idle words that I am saying. In the next few months the landscape of many lives in America will be forever changed. Things that you took for granted like your job, or your vehicle, or even your house may disappear in a moments notice.
Now is the time to repent brethren, repent! Lay the ax to the root of the tree. Clean up your lives and forsake the things that you have been tolerating.
God bless you and may God have mercy on all of us!
